Surfing

Long Reef Surfbreaks

Butter Box is a reef break right up the north end of Longy, it’s a bit of a walk so usually a little less crowded, even when working. Needs swell nearly directly from the S. Northerlies are offshore. Best ride is left, though shorter rights as well. Doesnt work as well on low tide, Mid to High best time.
Long Reef Beach Breaks are fairly consistent, though can go through some flat patches. Beach faces very SE, so will pick up any southerly swell. Offshore winds from the NW. Can get busy here, but there is a lot of beach to choose from so usually you can find a break to your self up north. Rights and Lefts.
Long Reef Bombie works in bigger SE swells, with impressively long rides possible when reef break connects with beach break. Works more often in the colder months. Offshore wind is from the NW. Mostly a Left, but plenty of time to go back and forth.
