Beach Safety

Patrolled Beach

This beach is patrolled during peak times. Flags are usually up from 9am to 6pm. Location's vary depending on conditions (rips etc), but usually there is a set outside the surf club at the South end of the beach, and another set towards the (usually calmer) North end.

Surfing

Surfing

Beach break, usually good, works on swells from the East. Can get crowded. North break is usually bigger and better. Waves can dump and the beach is exposed to wind and rips.

Scuba

Scuba Diving

Magic Point is a cave and shark dive off South Maroubra, usually a boat dive, but can be done from shore. Max depth is 22 meters. Usually a few Grey Nurse sharks around, as well as Blue Groper.
