Quality scenic beach in front of the caravan park. Breakfast at the café on the SLSC has the best view with a chance to see dolphins swimming past.
Activities
Patrolled Beach
Council patrols Park Beach Mon-Fri from Oct to April, while volunteers from Coffs Harbour SLSC patrol the weekends.
Beach Food
The SLSC has a restaurant on top with amazing views.
Accommodation
Park Beach caravan park has caravan and tent sites just a short walk from the beach.
Surfing
Fun beach break, can get crowded on weekends. Not usually a lot of power or length in waves, but will work in smaller conditions. Northern break is called Macauleys, it is a point break that will work in storm swells, but can get very crowded due to easy access.
Geography
Park Beach is the central surf beach in Coffs Harbour, it is about 1 kms long, running north/south from Coffs Creek up to Macauleys Headland.
Its is an ocean surf beach, surrounded by bushland, a caravan park and residential area.
The beach is mostly sand, but there are some rocks at the waterline.
Location
Park Beach is adjacent to the township of Coffs Harbour, less than a kilometre east from the Pacific Hwy. It is north from the Coffs Harbour Jetty.
Food and Accom
Name
Park Beach was presumably named for the strip of parkland that runs adjacent to the beach.
Coffs Harbour was named by John Korff in 1847, when he was forced to take shelter here from a storm. The name was misspelt by the surveyor when the offical map was created of the area in 1861.
