Description
Wanda Beach is around 18 km south of Sydney, in the suburb of Cronulla ,NSW, Australia. Climatic zone is temperate. It is a suburban beach surrounded by parks, and house. It can be accessed by car or walking north from Cronulla.
Wanda Beach is one of a series of beaches that curve for around 4km along Bate Bay. Wanda Beach connects with Elouera beach 400m to the south. To the north Wanda merges into the Cronulla Beach reserve, an unpopulated and undeveloped stretch of beach accessible only by foot.
Wanda Beach is a sandy beach, the sand is pale white, soft and clean.
It has little protection from southerly swell and winds like the beaches to the south.
Name
The name Wanda is an Aboriginal word for 'Beach' or 'Sand Dunes'.

History
Wanda Beach Murders- In 1965 two young girls were found murdered in the sand dunes North of Wanda Beach. The crime is still one of Australias greatest unsolved murders. More info is on Wikipedia Click Here
