Four Mile Beach is on the East side of Port Douglas, a small tourist town around 50km (31mi) North of Cairns, Queensland. It is a long sandy beach, lined by tropical coconut trees, that starts near the town centre, extending South for close to the advertised four miles. At the North end there is a picnic area with BBQs, hotels and cafes. Further South behind the beach is a mix of residential houses, hotels and resorts.
